Hackathon is a competition between several teams that proposes solutions based on IT technology applications, on various topics. The competition will take place over 24 hours, during which the participating teams are trying to bring the project (solution) to the most advanced stage of development. At the end of the competition, the best solutions presented will be awarded by a jury.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
At Hackathon event there are invited to enroll students, freelancers, software designers, programmers, startups, project managers, passionate about hackathon events, coming from different areas of activity. The participants will be organised into a maximum of 15 teams of 2-5 people with complementary skills and knowledge. The principle of non-discrimination, based on equal opportunities, as well as gender equality, will be ensured for all participants, both during registration and during the hacktahon contest.
METHODOLOGY OF REGISTRATION AND PARTICIPATION IN THE COMPETITION
The hackathon competition consists of three major stages:
✓ Stage 1 – registration of participants
✓ Stage 2 – matchmaking to complete the teams
✓ Stage 3 – effective participation in the hackathon
The registration in the competition is made based on an online Registration Form (other forms of registration are not accepted such as email, hard paper addresses, etc.).
During the registration process, the participants will express their consent for the use of personal data requested through the Registration Form.
HACKATHON THEMES
APAR proposes for RO AgriFood Hacking – HAR 2020 5 topics of major interest:
A. Digital tools for the innovative use of quality agri-food products (short supply chain, quality schemes, etc.).
B. Ensuring blockchain in securing information related to the traceability of quality agri-food products.
C. Digital solutions to combat unfair practices on dual quality of agri-food products, increase data transparency and consumer confidence in products.
D. Innovative digital tools for the use of IoT and satellite imagery in order to reduce administrative costs related to the process of assessing agricultural production, damage caused to farmers following natural disasters.
E. Digital solutions for civil dialogue management in the agri-food sector.
LOCATION?
The entire event will be organized online using ZOOM application, each team having assigned a “room” in which mentors can enter and advise participants.

MENTORS
A mentor is a person who has professional knowledge in technology and / or other sectors of activity relevant to the themes of the competition and who, during its development, provides advice, guidance to the teams entered in the competition.
JURY
The jury is composed of several people with extensive professional experience in the targeted agri-food sector, who attend the presentations of the teams entered in the competition and, based on an evaluation procedure (grids, methodologies, etc.), establish a ranking of them in order to designate the 3 winning teams.
